Yesterday we were building and launching rockets, so there was plenty of MoJo, but no time to blog about it. In lieu of my Monday post, I felt inspired today to participate in Oh Amanda’s Top Ten {Tuesday} carnival, because, you know what? I *never* have!
So, today, in a MoJo-y sort of way, I’m thinking about why I love having all girls.
1. No awkward decisions to be made about the kids bathing together/sharing bedrooms, eating breakfast naked. What?
2. Having all one gender is definitely the super-frugal way to have kids. I *never* have to buy clothes. Ever.
3. Having all *girls* is the *really* super-frugal way to have kids: people like buying girl clothes. It’s a fact. Even though they know we are totally overrun with adorable pinkness, they cannot resist giving us more. And I’m totally okay with that!
4. I think pigtails are about the cutest thing in the whole word. If you’ve ever seen my kids, you already knew that.
5. I don’t know what I would put a boy in on everyone-is-wearing-flowers days like today.
6. People don’t think we’re crazy for having four kids, they just assume we were “trying for the boy.”
7. I don’t know the first thing about how boys think. Girls, I sort of get. Even Romilly. Most of the time.
8. I have a heart for the issues that surround growing up as a Christian woman in this world. Maybe that’s because I have girls, or maybe God gave me girls because of that. Either way, it works out well.
9. It makes Daddy extra special. To the girls, because he is the only boy in our house (besides the dog), and for me because I get to hear him say over and over and over to people that he wouldn’t have it any other way.
And finally…
10. Well, just look at them!

Oh my gosh! Look at Bea’s curly hair! I love it!!
What cute girlies!
I am your opposite. I have two boys and firmly believe that God intended for me to only mother boys (I’m not that great at being a girl myself). I am clueless when it comes to the minds of girls!
The clothing situation is working well for us, too. My kids are 7 1/2 years apart. I am now getting into the clothes we have saved from Andrew (we thought that he would be an only) and Will will be well clothed for many years!
Thanks for sharing!
Numbers 6, 9, and 20 are my favorites. I was lucky to help Ginny out in Sunday School this week. I love your girls. They are so sweet.
Whoa Bea! Love that hair!!! And Junie is just getting cuter and cuter by the minute.
I have to admit that I dearly love Chickie (obviously) and I love that we share something that Bubba and I definitely don’t have because we seem to sort of get each other … but Bubba simply steals my heart. I can’t explain it any other way. I think there must just be something special between a child and the parent of the opposite sex because you always hear about that daddy/daughter thing and Trevor is evidence that its still alive and well!!!
Oh I love your whole list! Probably because I can relate to just about all of it, lol. 🙂 And your girls look so sweet all together there in their jammies!
Oh Jodi! Love the post, and love the cute girls! Every day I have a super trying day with Matt I think of you with your household of girls who are probably just as calm and reserved as Kiersten and Tori! But I will admit I absolutely love mothering a boy and have learned so much about Jason (or should I understand much better) since having Matt! Thanks for sharing! And are you going to be trying for that boy again soon?! 🙂
So sweet, Jodi! I’m so glad you participated today…er, last Tuesday!
I miss you girlfriend. I need to read your blog more! 🙂
Kisses to your sweet GIRLS.
This is SO sweet. I will be having my third girl in just a few short weeks, so I could relate to every point!
