Last night at our weekly small group Bible study, barefooted Pippa stepped in some doggy… indiscretion.  Then Romilly stepped in it right after her.

Mel, who was our host for the evening, quickly rushed into the house to bring out a bowl of soapy water, and proceeded to wash all three of the big girls’  feet (Bea’s,  just so she wouldn’t feel left out).  Mel also recently served our country for a year in Iraq, but this sweet act of humility and servanthood almost impressed me more.

What a picture of our Lord, who, being the God who created the universe, loved us enough to come to earth, wash human feet, and die on a cross for sinners like me.  Amazing.
